Your initial appointment will be a consultation. During the consultation we will take an x-ray, go over your medical history, and do an oral cancer screening. The doctor will then go over your diagnosis and explain to you, your treatment options. On some occasions, surgery may be performed on the same day as your consultation, however any sort of difficulties, such as complex medical history, more difficult procedure, or a want to be sedated under general anesthesia, will require a second appointment on another date. Do not plan to have the procedure completed on the first visit.
Please bring with you the following:
Important: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
Please arrive 20 minutes early to fill out new patient forms or you may pre-register online. If you choose to pre-register, please arrive 15 minutes early to allow us to review your information with you.
A Pre-operative consultation and physical examination is mandatory for patients who opt for iv anesthesia for their procedure. Please note that you cannot have anything to eat or drink after midnight, the night before your surgery. You must also have someone over the age of 18 accompany you to the procedure (they must bring photo id to verify age) and they must stay in our office at all times during the procedure. Note that not all patients are candidates for iv anesthesia, the doctor will go over any of this information with you during your consultation.
Please alert the office staff, prior to surgery, if you have any medical conditions which may be of concern (ex. Heart problems, diabetes, high blood pressure) or if you are currently taking any medications.
X-Rays:
If your primary dentist has taken x-rays, you may request that they be sent to our office, either by email or postal service. We are not responsible for any x-rays which are not received. Please make sure that the x-rays are recent. We also reserve the right to take our own x-rays if we feel that the x-rays are outdated inadequate for proper diagnosis.
